TORONTO, November 5, 2015 Food Network Canada today announced premiere dates for season three of its hit, high-stakes culinary competition series, Chopped Canada. Season three kicks off with its new host, Brad Smith, and the world premiere of Chopped Canada Teen Tournament (5×60) on Saturday, November 28 at 9 pm ET/PT. Chopped Canada’s third season continues with all-new regular episodes premiering January 9 at 9pm ET/PT.

Chopped Canada, the channel’s number one Canadian original series of the year, is back with a new batch of hopeful competitors and all the heart-pumping competition our audiences love,” said Christine Shipton, Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shaw Media. “This season opens with a new twist – our first-ever teen edition featuring 16 hand-picked culinary prodigies. The level of talent, energy, and competitiveness amongst this young group is edge-of-your-seat entertainment.”

Chopped Canada Teen Tournament  pits 16 of Canada’s best teen chefs against each other, battling it out for a chance to win $20,000 in this five-part special. In each episode, four young chefs face the clock – and each other – putting their skill and ingenuity to the test in an attempt to turn baskets of mystery ingredients into an extraordinary three-course meal. Competitors between the ages of 13 to17 from across Canada square off against each other, with the winner of each episode advancing to the finale. Course by course, the judges decide which teen chef Chopped Canada host Brad Smith will “chop” from the competition until only one remains. The last competitor standing collects the grand prize and will be crowned the first-ever Chopped Canada Teen Grand Champion.

TORONTO, June 25, 2015 – Family, food, and fun are racing to Food Network Canada’s Fall schedule as production begins on the new Canadian original series, The Incredible Food Race. Hosted by Rick Campanelli (Entertainment Tonight Canada), each episode of The Incredible Food Race features two families battling it out in a super-charged race full of fun food challenges and a main event: the family versus family cook-off of a kid-approved meal.

“I come from a family that is very passionate about cooking and enjoying meals together,” said Rick Campanelli. “I’m thrilled to be part of such an amazing project where families come together to cook and compete in a fun and adventurous way, and alongside each other.”

Food Network Canada’s Chef Corbin Tomaszeski (Restaurant Takeover, Dinner Party Wars) joins the series as chef mentor and commentator for each episode’s main cook-off event. In each episode, the competing families will battle for the grand prize of a year’s supply of free groceries, courtesy of series sponsor, Walmart Canada.

TORONTO, March 9, 2015– Shaw Media announced today that it has green lit a third season of Food Network Canada’s high-stakes culinary competition series, Chopped Canada. Season three promises to be filled with scrumptious surprises, including a Chopped Canada Teen Tournament. Sixteen of Canada’s best teen chefs will battle it out in the professional kitchen during the five-episode teen series in hopes of winning a $20,000 grand prize. The national casting call is now open for both professional and teen chefs at www.choppedcanadacasting.ca. The submission deadline is March 30, 2015 at 12:00am ET.

Shaw Media will once again partner with Canadian production company, Paperny Entertainment, for the third season premiering in 2016, exclusively on Food Network Canada. The first season of Chopped Canada debuted to record-breaking numbers for Food Network Canada scoring and average audience for a single play of 477,500 (2+)*, making it the highest-premiere in Food Network Canada’s history.

Press Release: FOOD NETWORK CANADA DISHES OUT A SECOND SERVING OF HIT SERIES CHOPPED CANADA ON JANUARY 10

TORONTO, November 26, 2014 – The mystery baskets are restocked, the knives are sharpened and the chopping block is ready for the savoury second season premiere of Chopped Canada on January 10 at 9pm ET/PT. After a record-breaking series premiere with the highest audience in the network’s history*, season two returns to Food Network Canada with 13 mouth-watering episodes. Culinary experts Eden Grinshpan (Eden Eats), Toronto’s Massimo  Capra (Restaurant Takeover), and Montreal’s Antonio Park (PARK Restaurant) join the rotating panel of all-star judges. Celebrity chefs Susur Lee, Lynn Crawford, Michael Smith, Roger Mooking, John Higgins and Anne Yarymowich return to the judging panel while Dean McDermott reprises his role as host.

Chopped Canada’s sophomore season features a hearty new batch of Canadian competitors representing British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
