We’re in a golden age of television, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you weren’t aware of it. With hundreds of channels, seemingly endless repeats and frankly a lot of trash on the air, it’s hard to find the gems in the rubble.

So it shouldn’t be surprising that many people are cutting the cord and young people leaving the nest aren’t even bothering with cable TV or satellite to begin with.

Yes, a large part of it is due to the cost. Rogers and Bell have packages that run up to or over $110/month, but don’t forget about installation fees, PVRs and other receivers and the super high cost of ethnic channels if you’re into that sort of thing.

TORONTO (October 27, 2015) – Canadians will be the first in North America to witness British superstar Adele launch her anticipated new album as CTV announced today a timely and exclusive deal with the BBC for ADELE LIVE IN LONDON (entitled ADELE AT THE BBC in the U.K.), premiering on Canada’s #1 network on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. In this deal, CTV brings Adele to Canadians with a showcase of live performances of classic and new tracks, and a chat with host Graham Norton (THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW), following the worldwide release of her eagerly awaited third album, 25, on Nov. 20. The special will air later on Bravo, E!, MTV, Much, and M3, as well as CTV.ca, Bravo.ca, MTV.ca, Much.com, and TheLoop.ca.

The deal also brings Canadians unprecedented access inside the BBC studios for an exclusive CTV interview as ETALK’s Danielle Graham sits down one-on-one with Adele in London to discuss the new special, her new album, and more. The multi-channel event kicks off this Sunday, June 21 as follows (check local listings to confirm broadcast times):

Press Release: CTV Orders Fourth Season of Hit Original Drama MOTIVE In Advance of Season 3 Finale, June 7

TORONTO (June 1, 2015) – CTV announced today it has ordered a fourth instalment of its hit original crime drama MOTIVE (@MotiveTV) from Foundation Features and Lark Productions for the 2015/16 broadcast season. The announcement comes in advance of this weekend’s edge-of-your-seat Season 3 finale on Sunday, June 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. With an additional 13 one-hour episodes on order, bringing the series total to 52 episodes, Season 4 of the “whydunit” drama begins production this fall in Vancouver.

In addition to recently being nominated for a whopping 21 Leo Awards, MOTIVE was CTV’s top nominee for the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards, garnering nine nominations, including for Best Dramatic Series and for the Golden Screen Award for Best Drama/Comedy Series. With an average audience of 1.3 million viewers, MOTIVE is  among the Top 3 most-watched Canadian dramas this season. With growth among viewers A18-34, Season 3 becomes the most-watched season yet for the demo.

TORONTO (May 25, 2015) – CTV’s summer programing was finalized today with announcement of the return of the most-watched television program in Canada last summer, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, headlining the network’s Summer 2015 schedule with its third season premiere Wednesday, July 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO.  Canada’s most-watched Canadian series is joined by previously announced blockbuster summer event series ZOO, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO, beginning June 30.

An all-new season of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA and ZOO join a summer lineup featuring new and returning fan-favourite hits including: Betty White and the gang in Part 1 of the farewell season of HOT IN CLEVELAND (May 26), as well as another celebrity filled season of HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT (July 7).

CTV remains the destination for live events and award shows this summer, with the previously announced FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP CANADA 2015™ matches beginning June 6.
