HBO’s Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning epic fantasy series delivered a preliminary overnight audience of more than 1.3 million viewers for its Season 5 premiere last night, making it the most-watched television program in Canada in the coveted 9 p.m. timeslot, and the #2 program of the day for total viewers. The Season 5 premiere of GAME OF THRONES increased 19% over the Season 4 overnight numbers, which previously held the record as the highest-rated season premiere in HBO Canada’s history*. GAME OF THRONES Season 5 premiere is now available via on demand platforms, along with the series’ first four seasons.

Premiering Sunday, April 19 at 9 p.m. ET/MT, the second episode of GAME OF THRONES Season 5 sees Arya (Maisie Williams) arriving in Braavos, while Pod (Daniel Portman) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) run into trouble on the road. Cersei (Lena Headey) fears for her daughter’s safety in Dorne, as Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma) seeks revenge for Oberyn’s death. Meanwhile, Stannis (Stephen Dillane) tempts Jon (Kit Harington) while an advisor tempts Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).
