Hometown Hockey drew some impressive numbers on Sunday with 1.25 million tuning in to see the Leafs and the Senators duke it out. That was up dramatically from last week’s Hometown Hockey game, which brought in 631,000 viewers and featured the Blackhawks and the Jets. Unfortunately, Hockey Night in Canada’s early games sank yet again. They drew just over 1.5 million viewers across CBC, City, OMNI and Sportsnet.

The World Men’s Curling Championship continued to draw impressive numbers over the weekend. Friday’s match featuring Canada and Norway drew 885,000 viewers and was the top sporting event of the day. It brought in more than double the audience of the day’s second most-watched sporting event, a Reds-Jays game on Sportsnet. Canada and Sweden’s World Men’s Curling match on Saturday also impressed with 825,000 viewers, and it was just behind Hockey Night in Canada’s late games as the third most-watched sporting event of the day.

The Jays opener drew 777,000 viewers on Monday easily besting the NCAA March Madness final. According to Chris Zelkovich at Yahoo! Sports, it was the most-watched away opener in Jays history. For more on it and the weekend’s other top sports events, visit Yahoo! Sports at the source link.
