Canadian TV Ratings [Sports]: February 6-8, 2015

All eyes were on Sportsnet (and the CBC) this weekend (logo via Wikimedia)

It’s weekends like these that really remind you how much of a hockey mad country Canada really is. Hockey Night in Canada surged from last week to reach a viewership of 2.4 million viewers on Feb. 7. I bet that’s mostly due to the holy trifecta of the Leafs, Senators and Canadiens that made up Hockey Night in Canada’s early games that night. The late match featuring the Penguins and the Canucks also did nicely. Close to 900,000 fans tuned in for that game.

Hometown Hockey was on Sportsnet because City chose to air the Grammys on Sunday instead. That game featured the Canadiens and the Bruins and drew 631,000. That’s also up from last week’s Hometown Hockey match, which drew 571,000, but it aired at an odd time on Super Bowl Sunday.

For more on the weekend’s top sports broadcasts, check out my charts below (Sportsnet and the CBC swept them), and for even more, visit Yahoo! Sports at the source link below.
