TORONTO, January 26, 2015 – HISTORY’s high-stakes docu-series Yukon Gold returns with a new, family feuding season this February when the miners must reconcile their personal and professional commitments in their relentless pursuit for gold. Miners Ken Foy and Guillaume Brodeur, Karl Knutson, and Cam Johnson return this season, while ambitious power couple Chris St. Jean and Nika Guilbault join the cast and make Nika the series’ first female lead miner. The new season of Yukon Gold premieres Wednesday, February 25 at 10pm ET/PT on HISTORY.
This season, newcomers Chris and Nika tackle Stowe Creek with their toddler daughter, Zyla, in tow. She’s a barrel of fun, but the added responsibility of having her around amplifies an already stressful environment. Although Chris is a tireless and clever miner, he has a short-temper under stress and a chronic knee problem that threatens to sideline their entire operation. It will be up to Nika to balance Chris out and keep their business and family together.
Returning veteran Guillaume also faces challenges this season after becoming equal partners with Ken and they’re looking for redemption following two financially and emotionally devastating mining seasons. With Guillaume’s wife and daughters close by in Dawson City, he has a lot to prove in his new role. While Karl earned his father’s respect last season, he has his sights set on opening a new mine. Cam works with his family on Ten Mile Creek, but they’re up against tough frozen ground and a lofty gold goal.
