The Rouchriders/Eskimos semifinal easily helped the CFL take Sunday (logo via Wikimedia)

The CFL and NHL ruled the airwaves this weekend. How Canadian, eh?

With the CFL playoffs in full swing, the league is out of its slump and easily beat the NFL on Sunday. The West semifinal drew an okay 1,267,000, while the East semifinal gathered nearly 900,000 around the boob tube.

While those numbers were more than enough to beat Hometown Hockey over on City and the aforementioned NFL on CTV and CTV Two, Chris Zelkovich noted over at Yahoo! Sports that the West semifinal was down 20 per cent from last year, while the East semifinal saw a 40 per cent drop. Yikes.
