TORONTO (November 4, 2014) – Canada’s most-beloved family event returns for another year of festive cheer as THE 110THANNUAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE broadcast kicks off the holiday season on CTV Sunday, Nov. 16 beginning at 4:30 ET/PTon CTV, and 5:30 p.m. AT on CTV Atlantic, and on CTV GO. For the fifth straight year, CTV is the exclusive broadcast partner of the annual holiday parade. With more floats this year than ever before, returning to anchor the 90-minute broadcast of the world’s longest-running children’s parade are CTV Toronto’s Ken Shaw, THE SOCIAL’s Melissa Grelo, and TSN’s Gurdeep Ahluwalia.
The countdown continues for the highly anticipated feature film, Corner Gas: The Movie, and fans will get a taste of what’s to come as cast members join THE 110TH ANNUAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE on their own float. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the debut of CTV’s smash-hit series, creator and star Brent Butt will reunite with cast members on the float, spreading holiday cheer to fans as they gear up for the film. Corner Gas: The Movie rolls out as a multi-platform event beginning with an exclusive theatrical debut across Canada, December 3 to 7, followed by television premieres on CTV, The Movie Network, and The Comedy Network.
Also new this year, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment will debut three floats in the Parade, featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, and Toronto FC.
In addition to on-air coverage, CTV’s parade-day essential website CTV.ca/SantaClausParade returns, with a printable map of the parade route, plus all of the latest THE 110TH ANNUAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE news. Viewers will also be able to track Santa’s location along the parade route in one festive App available for free download on CTV.ca. The App also turns any iPhone into ringing sleigh bells when it’s shaken, allowing viewers to ring out proud as Santa and all of his floats go by.
During the broadcast this year, some of the biggest stars in entertainment – such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Shawn Mendes, and Hilary Duff – are set to deliver exclusive yuletide greetings as part of CTV’s broadcast of THE 110TH ANNUAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE. The broadcast will also ring in the holiday season with cross-country family holiday greetings, a spectacular lineup of floats, hundreds of performers, and the one-and-only Santa Claus. Following the broadcast, viewers can also catch the event on demand on CTV GO.
