Montreal, October 15, 2014 – On Thursday, RDS viewers will experience all the excitement of the Montreal Canadiens’ home opener, as they host their perennial rivals, the Boston Bruins, at the Bell Centre at 7:30 p.m. ET.
From the new opening credits sequence all the way through to the game’s first face-off, RDS will present the pre-game festivities in full, with no commercial breaks. Experts when it comes to staging opening ceremonies, the Canadiens will present the members of the 2014-2015 team as well as treating fans to a number of surprises, including the identity of the torchbearer. All RDS reports and interviews at the start of the broadcast will be conducted live on site, and viewers will see the singing of the national anthems.
The game will also mark the debut of a new segment, Courrier du coach (“Coach’s Mailbag”), in which Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien will answer questions from fans received via RDS.ca. What’s more, viewers will be able to enjoy the voice of actor, musician and hockey lover Gildor Roy, who will provide the narration for the game’s intro segment. A proud Bruins fan, Roy will be the first of many renowned artists and public figures to appear throughout the season.
