TORONTO (October 2, 2014) – Business News Network (BNN), Canada’s leading source for business and finance news, today announced the return of the weekly, half-hour consumer advocacy series STEELE ON YOUR SIDE to its weekend lineup. Hosted by CTV News Vancouver Consumer Reporter Lynda Steele, the original, local in-house production’s much-anticipated second season gets underway this Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. ET on BNN.
“BNN is pleased to deliver original programming that focuses on helping Canadians make educated consumer choices,” said Grant Ellis, General Manager, BNN. “Lynda’s in-depth investigations put consumer issues at the forefront, helping Canadians avoid scams and stay informed about important consumer news.”
An expansion of the popular consumer segment that airs on CTV Vancouver’s CTV NEWS AT SIX, the first season of STEELE ON YOUR SIDE tackled topics including the Canada-U.S. product price gap, lost airport luggage, and worthless gift cards. This season kicks off with in-depth investigations into the growing problem of overseas telemarketers targeting Canadians, an examination into the bulletproof coffee food trend, and five-star treatments available for canine hotel guests.
In addition to its Saturday broadcast, BNN will also feature an encore of STEELE ON YOUR SIDE, set to air Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET. STEELE ON YOUR SIDE also airs locally Sundays at 5:30 p.m. PT on CTV Vancouver.
