Canadian TV Ratings [Sports]: September 19-21, 2014

Surprisingly, this weekend’s top match was a Broncos’ game (logo via Wikimedia)

It seems that Canada is now officially football crazy. The top five matches of the weekend were football games, with three of the bunch being CFL matches.

Surprisingly, however, the top game this week wasn’t a CFL match. It was CTV’s Broncos/Seahawks game on Sunday, which outdrew its nearest competitor TSN’s RedBlacks/Roughriders match (also on Sunday) by nearly 100,000 viewers.

While football is doing well, the Jays’ numbers are dwindling. For example, if you compare last Friday’s game to this Friday’s game, the Jays lost over 300,000 viewers. That’s not great news at all and might have something to do with the Jays no longer being in contention for the playoffs.
