TORONTO (September 9, 2014) – This Fall, The Comedy Network’s family gets a funny new face when JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! joins its late night line-up. Beginning Monday, Sept. 22, the Kanye-baiting comic brings his irreverent talk show exclusively to Comedy, weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT in simulcast with ABC. Jimmy joins talk show brethren Jon Stewart and THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART team (Monday – Thursday at 11 p.m. ET/PT), and fake political pundit Stephen Colbert and THE COLBERT REPORT (Monday – Thursday at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT beginning Sept. 22). As announced last April, Colbert is set to retire his “truthy” alter-ego and eponymous series this December.
JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! joins a line-up on Comedy that is currently the #1 entertainment specialty network during the late-night time slot (11 p.m. ET/PT – 12 midnight ET/PT) currently held by THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART and THE COLBERT REPORT, with more than twice the audience of the closest entertainment specialty competitor in the timeslot for A18-49. Filled to the brim with late-night heavyweights, with 29 Emmy® Awards and over one hundred Emmy® nominations between the all three series, Comedy viewers can expect their nights to be full of hilarious segments and bits, insightful interviews, up-to-date coverage of current pop culture and political events, including features and interviews with local municipal figures embroiled in drug scandals.
