TORONTO (August 25, 2014) – Unforgettable performances, unpredictable moments, and heartfelt messages made last night’s live broadcast of the 2014 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS unforgettable. Simulcast on MTV and Much, the two-hour awards show was the most-watched television program in Canada during its timeslot across all channels among Teens 12-34, Adults 18-34, and Adults 18-49, and ranked as the #1 Entertainment Specialty program among total viewers. Broadcast live from the Forum in Inglewood, CA, the 2014 VMAs had a total overnight audience of 596,000 combined viewers, with an incredible 42% year-over-year increase in the key A18-34 demo. During the live broadcast, Bell Media’s Chloe Wilde and her panel of fashion experts – DEGRASSI’s Cristine Prosperi, fashion blogger Jay Strut, and make-up artist Veronica Chu – were on home turf in the MTV Canada studios, dishing on all-things VMAs fashion, from Katy Perry donning a Britney-inspired denim dress to Iggy Azalea’s one-of-a-kind Versace gown.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, the VMAs dominated with 51 trending topics in Canada, at one point occupying all 10 out of 10 trends. The VMAs held the #1 trend throughout the entire broadcast.
