TORONTO and WINNIPEG (August 18, 2014) – TSN and True North Sports & Entertainment Limited are pleased to announce today that beginning this season the network’s package of 60 regional Winnipeg Jets games will be moved to TSN3 – part of TSN’s new expanded lineup of five national feeds branded TSN1, TSN2, TSN3, TSN4, and TSN5 that debut on Monday, August 25. The announcement comes as TSN’s Winnipeg Jets broadcast schedule was confirmed today.
To access regional Jets games on TSN3, fans must live in the Jets’ designated broadcast region, which includes Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and parts of Northwestern Ontario including Kenora, Dryden, and Thunder Bay.
TSN subscribers with participating television service providers in the Jets’ broadcast region will receive TSN3. With games being moved to TSN3, the previously offered TSN Jets service is no longer required and will be retired.
“Our new expansion feeds allow us to better serve Winnipeg Jets fans,” said Stewart Johnston, President of TSN. “With a wider distribution of Jets games, we are reaching more viewers and providing more value for our clients and partners. Alongside our partners at True North Sports & Entertainment, we are looking forward to bringing passionate Jets fans another season of great hockey.”
“We are thrilled to be a significant partner with TSN as they launch their exciting new feeds across the country,” said Mark Chipman, Executive Chairman, True North Sports & Entertainment Limited. “With full distribution of Winnipeg Jets games across our central region, Jets fans will now find it easier to follow our young, dynamic team as they enter another NHL season. We are also excited about the increased value and exposure this will offer our corporate partners.”
TSN Winnipeg Bureau Reporter Sara Orlesky will follow the Jets all season long to deliver news on the team across TSN’s slate of programs and platforms.
Along with regional Jets coverage, TSN3 will also feature a variety of world-class sports programming available nationwide – among them the World Juniors, Grey Cup, FIFA World Cup 2015-2022, Grand Slam tennis, all of golf’s majors, and much more.
