By now it shouldn’t surprise you World Cup matches have taken the top of the chart. The game between the Netherlands and Costa Rica was the top match this week with 2,694,000 tuning in. That beat last weekend’s top match Costa Rica vs. Greece by 278,000.

I was a bit surprised by the numbers for the Wimbledon Women’s Final until I realized that a Canadian was in the match. The Women’s Final pulled in 1,100,000 that’s 443,000 shy of the least watched World Cup game. It was easily the top non-World Cup sporting event this weekend. The difference between the Wimbledon match and the World Cup game doesn’t look that bad if you compare it to the viewer gap between last weekend’s least watched World Cup event and most watched non-World Cup Event, which neared a million.

Aside from Wimbledon, some other sports managed to crack the list of the top three shows of the day. There was a Tiger-Cats/Eskimos match on Friday as well as a Jays game and NASCAR race on Sunday. Visit Yahoo! Sports at the source link below to see some of the weekend’s other top events.
